More Than Miles. Mentorship Thru Movement

More Than Miles XC is an Indianapolis-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit grassroots running collective fueling at-promise older youth (ages 12 to 18) to step into their power — one mile at a time; thru a shared love of and passion for running and fitness. Serving youth across Indianapolis and Marion County, MTM XC creates access to structured running and fitness programs and mentorship for teens who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in organized athletics.

Through consistent group runs, supportive mentorship, and barrier-removing resources, teens develop discipline, resilience, and long-term confidence.

Participation fees, equipment costs, transportation limitations, and lack of mentorship often prevent teens from joining cross-country, track, or community fitness programs.

MTM XC exists to remove those barriers; to create safe spaces; and to empower our older youth runners to thrive — in running and in life.

We believe every motivated teen deserves access to movement, mentorship, and community — regardless of financial circumstance.

How our program works

MTM XC is not a one-time event or fleeting moment; rather, MTM XC serves as an ongoing, consistent community-based running and fitness program designed to help teens build discipline, confidence, and healthy habits through movement and mentorship. Together, these elements build more than endurance — they build identity and confidence.

MENTORSHIP THRU MOVEMENT

Running is one of the most accessible forms of fitness — yet its impact goes far beyond physical health.

Through consistent training, teens develop:

  • Mental resilience
  • Emotional regulation
  • Self-discipline
  • Goal-setting habits
  • Personal accountability
  • Team connection

For many teens navigating school, identity, and future decisions, running becomes a stabilizing force.

Each mile reinforces the belief: I CAN DO HARD THINGS.

Run with purpose

MTM XC participates in local Indianapolis races and charity team events that allow older youth runners to experience competition, teamwork, and accomplishment, all at no cost to our older youth runners.

We provide race registration support, preparation, and guidance so teens can participate without financial burden or worry
